Everybody loves Fashion, but trends should not be blindly trusted. Having a personal style, indeed, is one of the most important things to express oneself and to distinguish it from a crowd. That’s why I love this editorial so much: Zhenya Katava shows her personal style and attitude combining lace and flowers with dark corsets and punk jewels. The creations of Givenchy, Lanvin, Prada, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and other great designers are paired with rebellious smudged eyes, glittering accessories and teased tresses.

Key looks for Spring

Melissa Tammerijn (hair by Mark Daniel Bailey, make-up by James O’Reily, styled by Damian Foxe and photographed by Andrew Yee) models the Spring collections for the latest issue of How to Spend It Magazine. Melissa is wearing garments from all the greatest designers in the world including Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander, Burberry Prorsum amongst others.
Most notably absent from this selection? Versace (one of my favourite Summer collections, together with Prada and Dolce&Gabbana).

Art through Music: Somebody that I used to know

At first I thought it was Sting, but then I discovered that the song “Somebody that I used to know” was sung by Gotye (derived from "Gaultier", the French equivalent of Wouter/Walter) which is the stage name of Wouter "Wally" de Backer, a Belgian born, Australian emerging artist, multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter. He is really good and I think his song is great, but the thing that struck me the most was the video: extremely artistic (without being trash – a trait that nowadays enshrouds the whole music world, or, to be precise, the whole music video world) and really well done. The one thing I appreciate the most was the trompe l’œil technique combined with body painting.

Despite all the most ancient attestations going back to Classic period, the term which could qualify this technique was born in France only in the Nineteenth century. Trompe l’œil, indeed, literally means “fooling an eye” and it indicates the pictorial representation whose aim is to mislead human perception through mimesis of reality (which is not that easy because of the two-dimensional nature of the pictorial bearing).

The best of Lanvin, Givenchy and Stella McCartney Fall 2012 / 2013

That's how Alber Elbaz celebrated his 10-Years Lanvin Anniversary!
An opulent and luxuriant runway!

The darkest side of Givenchy, the one Hubert had never known.
I think Steven Meisel and Steven Klein will love these looks too and maybe Klein will shot Kate again!

Neoprene or techno or varsity details + tweeds = Stella McCartney's sporty chic style!
Feminine suits and dresses, but always comfortable.
